Hi, Im Taylon!
My name is Taylon Mendenhall, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Kansas. I believe there is such bravery in asking for support. In choosing to be seen. In recognizing that you were never meant to carry every piece of your story alone. One of the greatest privileges of being a therapist is sitting alongside people in the moments they so rarely share— the fears, hopes, dreams, experiences, and the moments that have shaped them into who they are and who they are becoming. To witness the resilience, courage, and compassion each person carries with them is something that I will never take for granted.
About Me
Let’s face it—therapy is personal!
I truly believe there is a therapist out there for everyone, and finding the right fit matters. I want to share a little about who I am so you can get a feel for me and decide if we might be a good fit to work together.
I work with all ages, but my background as a school counselor and coach has given me a special place in my heart for preteens, teens and young adults.
I’m outgoing and love a good laugh. I believe therapy can hold space for the hard things while still making room for humor, joy, and moments of lightness.
Sports have always been a big part of my life. I’m not quite ready to close that chapter, so you can usually find me playing on just about any coed team I can join!
Family means a lot to me. I hold my relationships with the people I love very close to my heart, and I understand how deeply those relationships can shape our lives.
I believe in being real. You don’t have to show up to therapy with everything figured out or have the “right” words. You can simply show up as yourself and that is the most important thing to me.
At the end of the day, I want you to feel comfortable being you. Therapy is a space where you can be honest, laugh, cry, process, grow, and figure things out without having to carry it all alone.
So, if you’re looking for a counselor who will genuinely listen, laugh with you, challenge you when needed, and walk alongside you through the messy parts of life—I’d be beyond happy to connect.
